Dedicated engineering teams

A team of engineers that works only for you, in your tools and your rhythm, led by a named delivery lead and shaped around the product you are building.

Who it is for

  • Organisations with a long roadmap and not enough engineers to deliver it.
  • Teams that want steady capacity without a long hiring cycle.
  • Leaders who want an extension of their own team, not a supplier at arm's length.

What you get

  • A named delivery lead and a team shaped to your roadmap
  • Work in your repositories, tools and cadence
  • Regular demos, a visible backlog and agreed delivery measures
  • Documentation and recorded knowledge as the team goes
  • The option to hand the team over to you when you are ready

What we do

  1. Shape the team

We agree the skills, seniority and size you need and form a team around your product, with a named delivery lead who is accountable for it.

  2. Onboard into your world

The team joins your repositories, chat, ticketing and ceremonies, follows your engineering standards and works overlapping hours, so it feels like part of your organisation.

  3. Run the delivery

Work is planned in short cycles with a visible backlog, demos and delivery metrics, and the lead removes blockers, so you steer outcomes and not individuals.

  4. Keep quality high

Code review, automated tests, security checks and documentation are part of the definition of done, and every change lands in your repository as it is written.

  5. Adapt and protect

The team grows, shrinks or changes skills as your roadmap moves, with knowledge shared and recorded so nothing depends on one person.

Outsourcing readiness assessment

A bounded look at the work you could hand to an outside team, how it would fit with yours, and which engagement model suits, ending in a written recommendation.

What is examined

  • Which work is suited to an outside team and which should stay in-house
  • The skills, tools and standards a team would need to work with yours
  • How decisions, communication and quality are handled today, and where handovers could break
  • Which model fits: a dedicated team, placed engineers, a managed project or build-operate-transfer

How it works

  1. 01 Scope. We agree what you want to achieve, the work in question and who we need to talk to.
  2. 02 Discover. We look at your roadmap, team, tools and ways of working, and talk to the people who would work alongside an outside team.
  3. 03 Assess. We weigh the work against each model, test how a team would fit, and note the risks and what would reduce them.
  4. 04 Recommend. We write up the model we would choose and why, how a team would start, and how you would keep control of cost and quality.
  5. 05 Review. We walk through the recommendation with your team, answer questions and agree what happens next.

What you receive

  • A written recommendation on the model and the scope
  • A map of the work suited to an outside team and the work that is not
  • A plan for the first weeks, including how the team would join yours
  • A readout session with your team
  • If you want help, we can form the team or start the project, or hand the plan to your own people.
  • If outsourcing is not the right answer yet, you keep a clear record of why, and of what to revisit.

Outsourcing & Dedicated Teams

Staff augmentation

Individual senior engineers placed into your own team to fill a skill gap or add capacity quickly, managed day to day by you and supported by us.

Who it is for

  • Teams with a specific skill gap, such as Kubernetes, security or AI engineering.
  • Organisations with a deadline and no time for a long hiring process.
  • Leaders who want to manage the work themselves and add capacity around it.

What you get

  • Engineers who match the role, interviewed by you first
  • Placement into your tools and ways of working
  • A KanoSystems lead who supports each engineer
  • Flexible terms to extend, swap or wind down
  • A handover of knowledge when a placement ends

What we do

  1. Define the need

We agree the role, skills, seniority and duration with you, and what success looks like in the first weeks.

  2. Match the engineers

We propose engineers from our team whose experience fits the role, and you meet and interview them before anyone starts.

  3. Place them in your team

They join your tools, standards and rituals and report into your lead, working your hours or an agreed overlap.

  4. Support them

A KanoSystems lead checks in on each engineer and on quality, and steps in if something is not working, so you are never left to manage a problem alone.

  5. Adjust as you go

Capacity can be extended, swapped or wound down with notice, and knowledge is handed back to your team as a placement ends.

Project outsourcing & managed delivery

You hand over a defined project or product and we deliver it, against a fixed scope or milestones, with one accountable lead and regular visibility into progress.

Who it is for

  • Organisations that want an outcome delivered, not a team to manage.
  • Businesses without the in-house skills for a particular build or migration.
  • Leaders who need a clear scope, price and timeline before they commit.

What you get

  • A written scope, milestones and delivery plan
  • Fixed price where scope allows, milestones otherwise
  • Working software or infrastructure in your repository
  • A weekly status, a risk log and regular demos
  • Runbooks and a recorded handover

What we do

  1. Define scope and outcome

We agree what is being delivered, what done looks like and what is out of scope, in writing, before work starts.

  2. Plan the milestones

The work is split into milestones with dates and acceptance criteria, priced fixed where the scope can honestly be pinned down and by milestone where it cannot.

  3. Deliver in increments

Two-week increments each end in something you can review, with demos and code in your repository, so progress is visible and not reported.

  4. Manage risk and change

A weekly status, a risk log and a simple change process keep surprises small, and anything that moves scope or cost is agreed with you first.

  5. Hand over properly

Runbooks, documentation and recorded sessions mean your team can run what we built, or we can run it for you under an agreed service.

Build-operate-transfer

We build a team and a capability for you, run it until it is stable, then transfer it to you, so you own it without carrying the start-up risk.

Who it is for

  • Organisations setting up an engineering centre or a new capability.
  • Businesses that want to own their team in the end but not build it from scratch.
  • Leaders who need a stable team before they take on managing it.

What you get

  • A team formed to your needs and standards
  • Tooling, environments and documentation set up for you
  • A staged transfer plan with agreed milestones
  • Your own managers trained and in charge
  • Advice for a defined period after the transfer

What we do

  1. Build

We recruit and form the team with you, set up tooling, environments and standards, and begin delivery under KanoSystems management.

  2. Operate

We run the team and its delivery, with agreed measures and regular reviews, until it is steady and your leaders are ready to take over.

  3. Prepare the transfer

Roles, processes, documentation and tooling are handed over in stages, with your own managers first shadowing and then taking charge.

  4. Transfer

People, processes and assets move to you under an agreed plan, including employment arrangements where that applies.

  5. Support afterwards

We stay available for a defined period to advise, so the first months on your own are not unsupported.
